Early Photos of Franklin II
Here are three photos that (I think) were of Papa when he was very young. The first one was dated "1903" while the second one was labeled "Franklin Benjamin Bristol, first of Aug. 1901" and the third one did not contain any information. Papa was born on March 10, 1901. He does not seem very happy about getting his picture taken!

The 1st photo dated 1903 is very interesting(if somber!!!!) All of my photos of our family as children seem somber too!!!
ReplyDeleteIn 1904 Franklin B. Bristol I would be killed at a Bristol Co. RR Crossing on a Sunday morning while retrieving a newspaper.
His children, SRB, HHB, CWB and FBBII would then be under the guardianship of Uncle Will. This was a big direction changer for our family.
Just another note, I have a very small diary kept by my Grandfather (HHB) noting that date when his father was killed. Apparently he was taken to the principal's office at school and told. He noted in his diary,"sad, sad day! Papa is gone!
ReplyDeleteI actually cried when I read it. Our family was always good at hiding emotions so I learned to read my Grandfathers eyes to try and find out what was really going on! This was an entry by a child that had lost his father!!
